You Watched Me Dying

She stood there over the grave. It was dark and the moon was full. The stars were out in full. She stood there over the grave. A single tear rolled down her cheek. A million thoughts flashed through her head. She stared and stared at the grave.

It had been a Friday night. She was out with her friends. They were hanging around doing the "normal teenage thing." They should have never got in the car. It had been raining. The roads were not safe, especially for those inexperienced. They should have not been driving, especially their minds altered the way they were but that was just the "normal teenage thing."

She realized now that they shouldnt have done it. She knows now the long lasting affects of their decisions. She cant go back now and change. She can never go back. All she can do is look at the grave. The grave that shows the gravity of the so called "normal teenage life."

She looks at the name on the tombstone. It was a name that brought so many memories to her. The name that had meant so much to her, yet she never appreciated it. Another tear rolled down her cheek. She thought about the name.

She remembered when the name had first been at school, when the name had first made a friend. She remembered many different experiences of that names life. She had never really realized how precious that life was until now.

They shouldnt have been driving. They shouldnt have been doing the "normal teenage thing." She shouldnt have to be standing over this grave right now. She shouldnt have tears coming down her face. She shouldnt have to look at that name. The named carved so horribly beautiful on the tombstone.

As the sun began to rise she begin to walk away. The tears on her face began to dry. She could not cry anymore. She took one look back, a look back on the grave. Then she fell to the ground. The name she just could not take seeing that name. The name on that tombstone would forever burn on her soul the name was her own.
